For my first passage, I have to admit that I feel quite uncertain about it. So, please just follow me and I will show you my trip to Malaysia from Sydney Australia.
I flew Qantas QF81 from Kingsford Smith airport and transited through Singapore Changi airport, to KL with MH 616. You may wonder there is a direct flight to Kuala Lumpur operated by Malaysia Airlines, and why I needed to have a layover in Singapore. The truth is, as a Oneworld Alliance frequent flyer, flying this route means that 80 Qantas status points (discounted economy) would be credited to my account, in order to retain my gold Qantas membership.
Let's start the journey, shall we?
1. On the Way: By Air
Here is my exclusive travel tip. If you take off from Sydney, sitting in the window seat on the right-hand of your aircraft, chances are you may be able to overlook a breathtaking view of Sydney Harbour.
During the flight, there would be two meals served, and I quite enjoyed Magnum ice cream with Thor: Love and Thunder =v=. But I skipped the last one to fully indulge in Qantas lounge at Singapore Changi Airpot.
2. The Qantas business lounges at Singapore Changi Airport
The vibe in this lounge is fairly calm compared to other Oneworld business lounges that I have been to in Hong Kong, such as the Pier, the Deck, the Bridge and the Wing. This may partly because Cathay Pacific is Hong Kong’s flagship carrier and a founding member of the Oneworld alliance, so its lounges tend to attract a steady flow of passengers throughout the day. Whereas Singapore airlines is a member of Star Alliance, I therefore assume that Singapore airlines lounges are far busier than Oneworld ones at this airport.
3. Heading to Kuala Lumpur
After I was well fed by the Qantas Lounge, it was time to catch sky train from T1 to T2.
4. Day 1 in Penang
From the moment I got off from the plane from KL, I could feel the heat and humidity, which exclusively belongs to Southeast Asia, considering the fact that I came from winter.
